The History of Margaret Catchpole (CD-ROM)

UKP-SFK-175. A facsimile reproduction of a 1930 edition. This is a fictional version of the real life story of the famous Margaret Catchpole (1762-1819) of Nacton, Suffolk. Although this is a highly colourful and romantic version of her life, it is based on real events and was written by the son of Margaret’s employer, Elizabeth Cobbold. Margaret was transported to Australia for life and her story is of great interest to historians of both countries.
