Duffield Parish Records. CD-ROM. This CD contains 2 facsimile reproductions: 1) a 49-page article that was originally published in the Journal of the Derbyshire Archaeological & Natural History Society , volume XXXIX (1917). It contains extracts from the parish registers and churchwardens' accounts from the 17th & 18th centuries; 2) Duffield Marriage Registers 1598-1812, a transcription that was first published by Phillimore in 1907. The Earliest Registers of of the Parish of Weston-upon-Trent, Derbyshire, 1565 to 1605 by Llewellyn Lloyd Simpson. CD-ROM. A facsimile reproduction on CD of an item that was first published in the Journal of the Derbyshire Archaeological & Natural History Society, Volume XLI, 1919. Fairly short, with few entries after 1586, it is nevertheless valuable as it is normally difficult to locate parish registers of such an early date. Price: £5.95

House Burial in Derbyshire by by S. O. Addy. CD-ROM. This CD contains a facsimile reproduction of a lengthy article by the Sheffield-based antiquarian and folklorist, Sidney Oldall Addy (1848-1933). It was originally published in 2 parts as "House Burial with Examples in Derbyshire" in the Journal of the Derbyshire Archaeological and Natural History Society in 1918 and 1919. 140 pages, illustrated. Monumental Inscriptions of Chesterfield Parish Church. CD-ROM. A transcription (not a facsimile reprint) of a section taken from Rev. George Hall's The History of Chesterfield (1839) featuring the monumental inscriptions of Chesterfield's famous (for its crooked spire) parish church of St. Mary & All Saints. Dating from 1599, these inscriptions are mainly from the 18th and early 19th centuries. Searchable. Price: £8.95

This is a facsimile reproduction of an article that was published in 2 parts in the Journal of the Derbyshire Archaeology & Local History Society in 1916 and 1917. The first part covers the period 1620-1731 and the second, 1732-1812. Please note that this is not a transcription of the complete registers but the essay does contain substantial extracts and other documents that are of interest to both local & family historians.
