Facsimile reproduction on CD of the original publication of 1896. An eclectic collection of local & family history resources, mainly relating to the Rev. Aldred's own genealogical research. The following family names appear fequently in the text: Aldred, Appleyard, Cope, Hanning (aka Henning or Honning), Meares, Monckton, Rush, Selby, Tichborne, Trenchard and Wegg. Allegations for Marriage Licences in the Archdeaconry of Sudbury, Suffolk, 1684 to 1831. CD-ROM. A facsimile reproduction on CD of a book that was originally published in 1918. Lists the marriages that came under the auspices of the Archdeaconry of Sudbury (includes some Norfolk and Cambridgeshire entries) between 1684 and 1831. The Eastern Counties Magazine or Suffolk Note Book 1900-1902. CD-ROM. The Eastern Counties Magazine or Suffolk Note Book was edited by the Hon. Mary Henniker and was a quarterly publication. According to an introductory letter by the editor, it was intended to include "contributions on Literature, Science, Art, Archaeology, Biography, Topography, Agriculture, Manufactures, Shooting, Hunting, Fishing, Yachting, Boating, Golfing, Cycling etc., and also on Society and Social Topics." To the modern reader, it is a useful source of East Anglian historical and genealogical information. The History of Margaret Catchpole, a Suffolk Girl by Richard Cobbold. CD-ROM. A facsimile reproduction of a 1930 edition on CD. This is a novelised version of the real life story of the famous Margaret Catchpole (1762-1819) of Nacton, Suffolk. Although this is a highly colourful and romantic version of her life, it is based on real events and was written by the son of Margaret’s employer, Elizabeth Cobbold. Margaret was transported to Australia for life and her story is of great interest to historians of both countries. Price: £5.95
